Sasha (Montpetit) is a young vampire with a serious problem: she’s too humanistic to bite! When her exasperated parents decide to cut her off, her survival is threatened. Fortunately for her, Sasha meets Paul (Bénard), a lonely teenager with suicidal behavior who agrees to offer her his life. What should have been an exchange of courtesies then turns into a nocturnal epic during which the two new friends will seek to carry out Paul’s last wishes before sunrise. Director Ariane Louis-Seize’s short films Les profondeurs (The Depths) and Comme une comète (Shooting Star) screened at Cinéfest in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Vampire humaniste cherche suicidaire consentant (Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person) is her debut feature. Lead actress Sara Montpetit starred in Maria Chapdelaine and Falcon Lake, which both screened at Cinéfest in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Sasha et Paul, âgés de 16 ans, étaient faits pour se rencontrer. Alors qu’elle est une vampire humaniste à la recherche d’un suicidaire consentant, lui est un dépressif chronique cherchant à donner un sens à sa mort. Ce qui devait être un simple échange de bons procédés se transforme en quête identitaire dans laquelle les deux nouveaux amis tomberont sous le charme l’un de l’autre et arriveront à s’affranchir d’une partie d’eux-mêmes pour se réconcilier avec leur nature profonde. Les courts métrages d'Ariane Louis-Seize Les profondeurs et Comme une comète ont été présentés lors de Cinéfest en 2019 et 2020 respectivement. Vampire humaniste cherche suicidaire consentant est son premier long métrage. L'actrice principale du film, Sara Montpetit, était en vedette dans Maria Chapdelaine et Falcon Lake, qui ont également été à l'affiche lors du festival en 2021 et 2022.
