The Boy in the Woods

Based on the remarkable true-life survival story, The Boy in the Woods follows Max (Klyne), a Jewish boy hiding in the forests of Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe during WWII. Max is an aspiring artist who escapes death when his selfless mother tells him to run away from the Nazi trucks which they are about to board. He befriends a farmer, Jasko (Armitage), and his family, who take him in. But with mounting pressure from the police and fear for his own family’s life, Jasko is forced to turn Max away. The Boy in the Woods is based on the memoir of the same name by Maxwell Smart.

Inspiré de faits vécus, The Boy in the Woods suit la trace de Max, un garçon juif de 11 ans qui se terre en forêt quelque part en Pologne sous l'occupation nazie pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale. Le jeune artiste a pu échapper à la mort quand sa mère lui a dit de s'enfuir tout juste avant leur embarquement dans un camion allemand. Par la suite, il se lie d'amitié avec Jasko, un fermier, et sa famille, qui l'accueillent à bras ouverts. Mais la pression de la police se fait de plus en plus forte et Jasko doit demander à Max de partir. Ce long métrage est une adaptation du récit biographique The Boy in the Woods: A True Story of Survival, de Maxwell Smart.
