As the country explodes under racial tensions after the assassination of Martin Luther King, writer Romain Gary (Ménochet), humanist and animal lover, and his wife, star Jean Seberg (Rohl), civil rights activist, welcome an abandoned dog into their home, trained to attack black people. Romain refuses to have him euthanized, at the risk of jeopardizing the balance of his relationship with Jean, an active participant in the Black Panthers. Director Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette’s previous feature film Inch’Allah screened as part of Cinéfest’s Gala Presentations in 2012.
