Shook

Ashish, aka “Ash” (Usmani), is a struggling Indo-Canadian writer living in the Scarborough district of Toronto—torn between a desire to be downtown to pursue his career and dreams, and accepting his suburban reality of falling in love with barista Claire (Forsyth) and reconnecting to his estranged father Vijay (White) (after he learns that the older man was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease). Shook is Amar Wala’s dramatic feature debut as director.

Ashish, surnommé Ash, est un écrivain indo-canadien vivant à Scarborough, un district de Toronto. Il est indécis et éprouve quelques difficultés. D'un côté, il souhaiterait vivre au centre-ville pour poursuivre sa carrière et ses rêves. De l'autre, il pourrait se satisfaire de sa réalité banlieusarde, d'aimer Claire, la serveuse du café, et de rétablir le lien avec son père Vijay, qui souffre de la maladie de Parkinson. Shook est le premier long métrage de fiction d'Amar Wala, qui s'est inspiré de sa propre histoire.
