Ukrainian intelligence services have intercepted thousands of phone calls Russian soldiers made from the battlefield in Ukraine to their families and friends in Russia, painting a stark picture of the cruelty of war in a dizzying emotional tension. Juxtaposed with images of the destruction caused by the invasion and the day-to-day life of the Ukrainian people who resist and rebuild, the voices of the Russian soldiers—ranging from being filled with heroic illusions to complete disappointment and loss of reason, from looting to committing more horrible war crimes, from propaganda to doubt and disillusionment—director Oksana Karpovych exposes the whole scope of the dehumanizing power of war and imperialist nature of the Russian aggression.

Alors que les Ukrainiens tentent de vivre malgre´ l’invasion, les services de renseignement du pays ont intercepté des milliers de conversations téléphoniques de soldats russes se confiant à leurs proches en Russie. Parfois fiers, parfois désillusionnés, ils parlent entre autres de la cruauté de la guerre et de l'incroyable tension. À cela se juxtaposent des images de destruction, des images du quotidien du peuple ukrainien qui résiste et reconstruit inlassablement. Dans Intercepted, la réalisatrice Oksana Karpovych superpose le monde de celui qui de´truit et de celui qui est de´truit pour re´ve´ler la terrible re´alite´ de ce conflit qui dure depuis plus de deux ans.
