Comme le feu (Who by Fire)

17-year-old Jeff (Parker) is invited by his friend Max (Marchand-Gagnon) to travel deep in the woods and stay at the isolated estate of acclaimed director Blake Cadieux. He has high expectations for the trip: Cadieux is an artist he greatly admires—plus Aliocha (Arandi-Longpré), Max’s older sister, with whom he is secretly in love, is also coming. The untouched and hostile forest and the director’s huge cabin become the territory where the youthful search for ideals and freedom confronts the wounded egos of the adults. Comme le feu won the Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury at Berlin International Film Festival 2024.

Jeff est invité par son ami Max à séjourner dans un grand domaine isolé au fond des bois où vit l'illustre réalisateur Blake Cadieux. Les attentes sont grandes. Jeff rencontre Cadieux, un artiste qu'il admire, en plus de passer quelques jours en compagnie de la sœur aînée de Max, Aliocha, dont il est secrètement amoureux. La vaste maison et la forêt hostile et sauvage deviennent des territoires où une jeunesse en quête d'idéal et de liberté est confrontée aux egos blessés des adultes. Comme le feu a mérité le grand prix du jury (section Génération) à la Berlinale en février.
